Olamide: My next record could be my last.
Olamide Adedeji, better known as Olamide, is a singer and rapper who has stated that his long-awaited next album may be his last.
On Saturday evening, the singer/rapper tweeted, “My second album, Unruly, is 95% ready.” But I’m not sure when it’ll be released because I’m taking my time to make it the greatest it’s ever been. It’d most likely be my final album, though I’d release singles every now and then if I felt like it. It’s been a fantastic run, as I’ve been releasing albums one after the other.”
Remember that when Olamide first entered the industry, he released albums on a yearly basis till 2016.
Olamide, recognized as one of the country’s most prominent artists, released his debut studio album, Rapsodi, in 2011 while signed to Coded Tunes. He followed it up in 2012 with Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL), released on his own record label, YBNL Nation. Songs on the album included First of All, Voice of the Street, Stupid Love, and Ilefo Illuminati.
Baddest Guy Ever Liveth, his third studio album, was released on November 7, 2013. Durosoke and Yemi My Lover were among the songs performed.
The next year, he released another album, Street OT, and in 2015, he released another album, 2 Kings, with long-time partner Phyno. This was followed by the release of a solo album titled
In 2021, he released another album titled, UY Scuti.
The singer had been a force to reckon with in the entertainment industry for over a decade, and his decision to stop releasing albums is seen by some as the likely end of an era.
