FG to evacuate Nigerians from Ukraine. Ukraine and Russia War

Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on Wednesday night, the Federal Government is planning a special flight to rescue Nigerians besieged in the nation.

The government’s action came after the House of Representatives demanded that Nigerians be evacuated from the Eastern European country promptly.

Nigeria’s move came as Russia ramped up its bombing of Ukraine from the air, sea, and land.

The Nigerian Embassy in Kiev, Ukraine’s capital, had previously urged Nigerians in the country to remain calm and take responsibility for their own safety and security.

However, Foreign Minister Geoffery Onyeama, who revealed the government’s evacuation plan on NTA yesterday, said the Federal Government will provide a special jet for Nigerians willing to be evacuated from Ukraine.
