Nigerian General Overseer of Christ Living Hope Church arrested with hard drugs by NDLEA at Lagos airport
Rev. Ugochukwu Emmanuel Ekwem, the General Overseer of Christ Living Hope Church, has been detained by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
While on his way to a crusade in Nairobi, Kenya, the pastor was apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos.
Around 54 sticks of narcotics were wrapped around his body, all of which tested positive for cannabis.
The preacher’s main church is at Isuaniocha, on Mgbakwu Road in Awka, Anambra, with two additional branches in Lagos and Abuja.
Ekwem was apprehended while clearing passengers on an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Addis Ababa to Nairobi.
According to NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi, the chemical was intended for usage during his three-week crusade in Kenya.
Nnakeanyi Chukwuka King, a passenger who arrived in Nigeria through Ethiopian Airlines flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil, via Addis Ababa, was also apprehended.
