Cristiano Ronaldo has apologized for smashing an Everton fan’s phone following Manchester United’s defeat.

Cristiano Ronaldo has apologized to fans after it appeared that he smashed a mobile phone post-full time at Goodison Park. Manchester United suffered a crushing defeat against 17th-placed Everton. In the 27th minute, Anthony Gordan’s shot took a wicked deflection off United captain Harry Maguire, giving Everton the game’s only goal.

It was a nearly 96-minute struggle for Ralf Rangnick’s men, who were unable to score a single goal past Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford (and England). After the 1-0 loss at Goodison Park in Liverpool, United has dropped to seventh place, six points behind fourth-placed Tottenham.

A squad built with roughly €1.2billion is facing a serious threat of not qualifying for the Europa League, let alone the Champions League, next season. Cristiano Ronaldo, the Manchester United forward could not hide his frustration as he knocked off a fan’s phone while walking back in the tube at full-time at Everton vs ManU.
